What earth do you imagine when you say
"I'll do this after I turn 50!"
Or
"We’ll travel the world after we have enough money"?
Because that future
Will be lying
Under the burned ashes
Of extinct species
You never even knew
Existed.
That future you imagine,
Will sell you breathable air
At the cost of your travel plans;
It will tell you to see those mountains
Through your TV screen
Because they would've disappeared
That garden where you used to play at,
Will no longer be green.
That burning sun
And your skin burns,
Will be synonyms.
And the part of the earth
Where you want to live,
Will be buried
Under tons of sand and debris.
It's like we have accepted the end.
It's like we just want money to spend.
It's like we'll die if we don't have anything flashy to share on streaks.
So do your bit and encourage others to do theirs.
Make a tiny change,
It may be the missing piece in this domino we call reality.
